U.S. Awaits Execution Of Saddam

The White House is preparing for the execution of Saddam Hussein as early as this weekend, even as the lawyer of the disgraced dictator is making a last-ditch effort to stop his death. Washington's timetable was reportedly based on the information U.S. officials in Baghdad, Iraq received from the Iraqi government although there were differing accounts.

Bosho Ibrahim, Iraq's deputy justice minister said that Saddam should not be hanged for another week. He argues, "The law does not say within 30 days, it says after the lapse of 30 days."
